For this project, I interviewed Bob Sadley. At the times these events occurred, he was in his teenage years (age thirteen through age eighteen). He stated that he had known that a member of the Yardbirds had left the band in March of 1965, but he did not know it was Eric Clapton at the time. Bob knew all the major points about Martin Luther King Jr.’s civil rights movement; nothing more, nothing less. When he was fifteen, he was in a band with Dave Whitman. Whitman went to New York state to a Jimi Hendrix gig and brought back the album Are You Experienced. Sadley and Whitman’s band learned the entire album and performed it at local shows in Saint Marys. People in the area thought it was original material instead of Hendrix’s. They like to credit
