• The remains of the Bocksten Man were found in a bog in Varberg Municipality, Sweden • Found by Johansson on 22 June 1936 • The uppers parts of the man passed through the harrow were badly damaged while the lower parts were intact • Man was 170-180cm tall and slenderly built • Injury covering by 8 by 5 cm on the right side of the cranium • All of the internal organs and parts of the lungs, liver and brain as well

The man had been knocked to the lake by two poles, one made of oak that hit his heart and one made of beech which went through his back.

• Carbon dating was used to determine how old the body was • Osteological examination in 2006 concluded that Bocksten Man was around 172 tall and slenderly built. • Studies of his teeth and skeleton revealed that he was between 30 and 40 years old when he died. • Comparative studies of his clothing also reveal that he was from around 1350-1370AD. • Analysis of his clothing: ○ Cloak: The cloak was made out of twill, well tailored ○ Hood (best preserved of all garments): Made from a fairly dark brown woollen twill fabric ○ Hose/ Trousers: there were two holes on either side of the trousers used to draw a strap of leather around them to keep them from falling down onto the knees ○ Shoes: they were front laced, sewn with woollen threads.
