To Kill A Mockingbird is a book about a man named Atticus who is a lawyer and is trying to win a rapist case for Tom Robinson, a black man. Scout and Jem are Atticus' children who find themselves interested in a man who never leaves his home and who isn't like they thought he was. In the book, there are many characters that seem completely different to how they truly are. The first character that comes to mind when talking about a person not initially being how we think and see them is Boo Radley. Boo was a regular kid who played outside with friends and got into trouble at school. One thing that we find out in the book is that Boo is an albino. But the real reason is that it's hard on Boos' eyes to be in the light outside. Boo was only seen outside the house at night. Boo left Scout and Jem items in the tree on the Radley property. During the house fire, Boo snuck out and gave Jem a blanket and Jem didn't even realize but Atticus knew it was Boo. When Scout and Jem got attacked after the play on the way home Boo stabbed Mr.Ewell to save Jem and Boo carried Jem to safety. So even though Boo never went outside and had many rumors about him going around, he always gave back to Jem and Scout and helped them. Another character that shows how they truly are is Mr. Cunningham. He has a son and a good thing is going with Atticus. The night Mr. Cunningham and a few men showed up to the jail to kill Tom Robinson, he showed who he really is. When Scout remembered Mr. Cunningham, she talked about how “she knew his son”. How they went to school together and how good of a kid he is.”(155) Scout also talks to him about his job and friendships he has. Scout changed his thinking and made him decide to leave and not bother Tom Robenson and Atticus. The last person who changes people's outlook on her is Aunt
