Cold War. The reason why I choose to read and write a book report on this book is because it is a required reading appointed by my chainofcommand under the United
States Marine Corps. In my own opinion why most people read this book is because this book describes how hard it was back in the last century when Marines fought the past wars and pushed through hard times and make it through tough times. This novel describes how former presidents in the past tried to merge the Marine Corps with another branch of the military and also describes what makes the Marine corps so different and unique from the rest. This novel explains how significant and diverse the Marine Corps is, for example on pages 103104, General Krulak describes how AAV’s or assault amphibious vehicles only the Marine Corps uniquely have in her arsenal was a crucial part of wars. General
Krulak depicts the importance of these vehicles by describing how these incredible machines play a major role in assaulting enemy beaches and also describes the struggles of the assault amphibious vehicles about how they break down in coral reef as it knocks off the tracks off its suspension from time to time making it disabled and unable to move. Another reason what make this novel so unique and the Marine Corps unique is how it describes how Marines are professional towards themselves, their brother and sisters that
