Snowden was a former CIA computer tech in the 1870’s. He leaked information proving that we really did not have privacy we thought we had and how the government was constantly watching the public. Snowdon gave this secret information to wiki leaks then fled to Hong Kong not ready to face the consequences of his actions. Sonwden did not only leak this information to the United States of America but to all of the countries. That means that every country was eligible to see this information. Snowden leaked this information that he was able to see to everyone for the right reasons although it was a bad thing to do.
Ellsberg who was employed by the Defense Department did similar actions as Snowden in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He leaked articles involving top secret information about the Vietnam War, although unlike Snowden he only leaked this information to the United States. He shared his knowledge to the New York Times where they published what they were told and soon everybody knew. Ellsberg did not try to hide; he did what he did and was ready for any consequence given to him. Later on Ellsberg went on trial for criminal charges in the year of 1971 and all charges were dropped in 1973.
