I loved the book, Warriors Don’t Cry. It taught me a lot of lessons about how to be a better person. I learned more about segregation and realized how hard it was for colored people to do simple things. They couldn’t ride the merry-go-round at the park or most importantly they couldn’t go to school without being harassed every minute of the day. This book taught me that just a smile could brighten someone’s day and make everything so much easier for them. Melba and the rest of the Little Rock Nine had very rough days, but when they got a smile someone it gave them courage and hope about having good days at Central High School and surviving the school year.
