This topic was chosen because this is a topic to not take lightly because this was a severe matter that hurt innocent civilians. The terrorist could have had a mental illness or whatever but harming people in general is a no. The Boston Marathon Bombing was an unexpected day that will put us Americans all in pain forever. This day will always be in memory to all that was at the marathon at the time or had loved ones that were in the incident. If there was more security at the bombing could have we prevented it (B, 2013). No one knows how we could have prevented the Boston Marathon, but what police know is that they have increased the security at the Boston Marathon runs now. Since the Boston Marathon Bombing occurred, not only did the security increase at the marathon, but security has increased at other big events as well. It is very hard to know if someone is planting a bomb because usually at checkpoints or security they only check for weapons or drugs. When you are being checked at security they will not notice wiring, drone sensing equipment, or plain clothes police officer roaming the crowd (Bauter,2016). Since Boston has experienced this threat, the change over the years, security has increased both visible and behind the scenes to keep the community safe (Bauter,2016). Boston wants to ensure that there will not be an accident like that ever in Boston again. “We ask, “What’s changing in the world right now that we should be thinking about?” Schwartz said (Bauter,2016). As you can see they have meetings to better ensure the people that it will be safe at events so that the people are not going to any events scared.
