Boston Tea Party
The history of tea is complex and long, a span of thousands of years. The Boston Tea Party
is an interesting subject that is a part of tea’s history. The Boston Tea Party took three hours and
one hundred colonists to empty 90,000 chests of tea in the Boston Harbor.
The Boston Tea Party was an act against the taxation of tea and stamps. The British
Parliament sought to cause trouble in the East India Company passing the Tea Act in 1773.
December 16, 1773, Samuel Adams and the son of liberty got on three ships in the Boston Harbor
and threw 342 crates of tea overboard. Adams and a small group of Sons of Liberty dressed up as
