“I will work harder, Napoleon is always right” (Orwell). Boxer believed in those two mottos and lived up to them. His role was always to work on the farm. Napoleon feels threatened by Boxer because he was good at his job and very strong. The animals think that Boxer will retire so that he didn’t have to work so hard, but that doesn’t work out since he dies later in the book. Boxer is very important throughout the story. Boxer is the hardest worker on the farm. “When the boulder began to slip and the animals cried out in despair at finding themselves dragged down the hill, it was always Boxer who strained himself against the rope and brought the boulder to a stop” (Orwell 61). Boxer was always ahead of everyone else when it came to working.
