I felt annoyed because Bruno was oblivious to his surroundings unlike Anne who knew what the Nazis were capable of. For example Bruno said to Shmuel on page 110-111 “It's so unfair. I don't see why I have to be stuck over here on this side of the fence where there's no one to talk to and no one to play with and you get to have dozens of friends and are probably playing for hours every day. I'll have to speak to Father about it." Bruno doesn’t realize how lucky he is to not be inside of the fence because instead of everyone having a good time and playing,they were put to work,not fed,and left to die in pain and agony. Also, when Shmuel got a black eye by being beat by Lt. Kotler for “stealing” the food in Bruno’s fridge, Bruno thought he just fell off his bike. But little did Bruno know the people inside the camps weren't even allowed to have personal possessions let alone ride a
