Already having to try and overcome her social anxiety everyday she tried to avoid all the drama she could but it seemed to be inevitable. Every morning the two girls would carpool to school together and usually the first five minutes of the drive Marissa would give Brandy her daily pep talks, assuring her that , everything would be okay. These talks started out as a crying session for Brandy, while her tears were flowing Marissa was her personal shoulder. Those who knew of her disorder looked at is as extreme shyness and thought that Brandy exaggerated a little too much but Marissa took it even more seriously than Brandy herself considering the fact that she had a mother that lived in a deep depression most her childhood so she knew how serious psychological disorders could be. Brandys morning break downs were left behind during the 7th grade and Marissa was to thank, No one will ever know how close to the edge she really was except for her best friend. Walking into school was still a very stressful event, but no one else would have ever guessed that by the way the two girls walked in with such confidence alongside one another. As they strode down the hallway to their lockers Brandy noticed an invite tapped to the outside for Tommies 18th birthday ,She knew Brandy received one as well. The two girls received an invitation from their enemies each year. Of course they were going who wouldn’t go to the party of the year. Marissa would always hesitate, as she exclaimed “Brandy I don’t understand why we have to go, we don't even like them. And you know how nervous you get before parties. You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone.”
