Colonies
The thirteen colonies is broken down into three regions including Southern, Middle, and The New England colonies. Each region is based on geography, climate, and culture. The Southern colonies are Virginia, Maryland, South and North Carolina, and Georgia. The Middle colonies are New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The New England colonies are Massachusetts. Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
Each Colonies had different Economic views "pertaining to the production, distribution, and use of income, wealth, and commodities". The Southern colonies had a Plantation economy based on single crops, which mainly included tobacco and rice that required slavery to bring a substantial profits. The Middle Colonies were more diverse by hosting small farmers, craftsmen and merchants who all depended on some type of living profit for their living. The New England colonies were family run businesses and few merchants.
Some of the Social views were determined by "characteristic of the experience, behavior, and interaction of persons forming groups" .The Southern Colonies developed a socially-stratified society based upon English tradition which was bi-racial including blacks and whites. The Middle Colonies developed a highly diverse society based on many cultures,
Brittany Norton languages, and regions. The New England Colonies developed a Homogenous society based on the idea of a perfect, godly, religious community.
The Political views were" relating to the ideas or strategies of a particular party or group in politics". The Southern Colonies were ruled by the plantation elite who developed a political system that honored local laws and customs based upon their elite, socially-stratified beliefs. The Middle Colonies were ruled by small town governments which reflected the diverse of settlements. The New England Colonies lived in close knit clustered villages and towns which led to a town rule and town meetings.
Religious views were determined by what you believed in. The Southern Colonies Anglican faith which played almost no role in politics and the economy. The Middle Colonies practiced a great deal of religious tolerance, accepting the beliefs of Quakers, Shakers, Presbyterians, and Baptists which played a minor role in politics and the
