Bullfrog Valley was located north of Russellville which follows from Big Piney Creek from Long Pool to Booger Hollow. Apparently had agents in big cities like Toronto and Mexico City. The operation had baffled the government until the Secret Service in Chicago had a lead on some fake money leaving Chicago going to Pope County. The was a story about moonshiners that ambushed six deputy U.S. marshals. Two were killed, two were wounded, and two were missing and were announced kidnapped. A newspaper in Marshall said “ Everyone knows where the Bullfrog Valley is.” An article in the Gazette said that the gangsters avoided federal agents operating in Fort Smith and Little Rock. Fifteen men had been arrested by the end of 1897. Rozelle who was never mentioned in the paper at the time managed to escape with his press. A later paper in the New York Times in May of 1901. That talked about the tireless work of the Secret Service in tracking down thugs. It reported that Rozelle had left Bullfrog Valley and had buried the equipment.
