History
Weetabix is the English version of the original Australian Weet-Bix. Weet-Bix was introduced in Australia through the company “Grain Products Limited” in the mid-1920s. Grain Products sold both its Australian company in 1928 and then its New Zealand Company in 1930. The company went to South Africa where Arthur Shannon, the owner of Grain Products, funded another Weet-Bix factory. While in South Africa the company gained private funding for the business and started developing the business under a different name, “The British and African Cereal Company Limited” and created a new name for the product, Weetabix. The company started business in England in 1932 in an unused gristmill at Burton Latimer, near Kettering. In 1936, the name of the company was changed to Weetabix Limited and has stayed as that ever since. The product was introduced to North America in 1967, when Weetabix Limited began exporting the product to Canada. The United States followed in 1968.

“Weetabix mills are in Burton Latimer in the heart of Northamptonshire, surrounded by a 50 mile area known by many as Weetabix Country.” Weetabix source their resources from within 50 miles of their Burton Latimer location in Northamptonshire making them a great British company and a reason why people will buy from them and will always do so.
They have made sure that their brand is easily recognisable to all shoppers buy placing their logo large in the middle of the box. They have also placed the slogan for the product on the packaging and in my opinion it will make more undecided people buy is because it shows that it will give you energy for your day.
