No matter your origin, many civilians and bystanders have a reaction to the Nazi’s hatred towards Jews. The responsibility for bystanders depends on their origin and how they fit into the community. Many bystanders are introduced to the racism against Jews by the leaders or adults in their community, such as teachers promoting racism against Jews to young children. Many bystanders react in a way like many others in their community, because they’re afraid of the consequences of speaking out against the Nazi’s. Many bystanders don’t have a say in their actions because they’re aware of the consequences and punishments. In the modern world, many bystanders follow and copy the actions of others because they don’t want to be considered an outcast
