Clive Staple Lewis, also known as, C.S Lewis is a well-known Christian writer and scholar. Born November 29, 1898, in Belfast Ireland, C.S lived with his mother Augusta Hamilton Lewis, father Albert j. Lewis and brother Warren. As a child C.S and his Brother Warren shared a close relationship and spent much of their childhood playing together, “The other blessing was my brother. Though three years my senior, he never seemed to be elder brother; we were allies, not to say confederates, from the first (Lewis, 1956).” I was at this time, he and William began their fascination with “dressed animals” similar to those of his most famous work, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. C.S described the lack of aesthetics growing up, which he faulted the environment he was raised in as culprit for his lack of imagination, It wasn’t until he and his brother discovered this spark of imagination, through a toy garden which he credits for his life long gift. The first six of childhood were happy for C.S with the exception of his phobia to insects, which caused terrible dreams as a child; it wasn’t until his father decided to move the family that he experienced a major changes to his life, …show more content…
It was during this time that his mother passed away and this forced him to reality a lot quicker than most children. It wasn’t until after his experience with the war that he was able to begin adult hood through the experience of individuation. After the war Lewis began to accept his mothers death thru his near death
