Even though I had been an LPN for over twenty years, I first learned about evidence-based practice in 2015, while in And school. I thought it was a great concept and was very impressed with it. Another way to explain my new definition of evidence-based practice it to say, I now believe that I must be an active participant in the care I provide for my clients, by using critical thinking skills, my clinical experience and current evidence-based practice guidelines I will continue to look for better safer and economical ways to improve patient care and safety, instead of just silently following the …show more content…
For example, primary research is where the author or authors collect the data themselves. Whereas secondary research the author comprises other peoples research data and builds upon it, for example, an author wants to see which medication-assisted therapy helps clients attain the most sober days, he researched other peoples data on the effectiveness of methadone treatment and compares it to the data of another authors research on Subutex and incorporates it into his own research article giving credit to the authors in his research
