CTE: New Restrictions In Sports

There should be new restrictions in sports. Having new restrictions will help players to not have a CTE and the beginning of a CTE, which is a concussion. Scientists have been working on many mechanisms on the brain, and have agreed to set new restrictions on the brain. For example, football is one of the sports that involve in CTE’s, so scientists are recommending to have more “protection” in the helmets for the players’ brains’. Getting many hits during practice is worse than getting hurt in football during a game, and cause severe damage in the brain. The beginning of a CTE is a concussion. A simple hit to head is common of a concussion. But there are two steps that cause a concussion. The first step of a concussion is that the impact jolts the heads in directions. Which means, the brain moves forwards, backwards, and side to side. The second step of a concussion is that the force slams the brain against the inside of the skull. The brain bounces back to the opposite side. The third step of a concussion is that some hits twist and stretch the brain as it bounces around. The fourth step of a concussion is that a concussion can make the brain swell and puts pressure on the brain as it moves. …show more content…
The force of the measuring is not exactly what the brain sees. So, the person that is about to get hit is seeing where the “hitter” is coming and knows when himself is going to get hit. But, the brain can’t see from where the “hitter” is coming from. The direction that the player is struck on is different within the brain. The face mask can make that sort of twisty more extreme. The force that is put on the brain is different and the direction that the player is hit at can be extreme. Scientists say that in order to protect the brain there should be new restrictions
