Cab Calloway was born on December 25, 1907 in Rochester, New York. On November 18, 1994 Cab Calloway past away from a stroke that he had six months earlier. Cab dies in Wilmington, Delaware. Cab Calloway was known as the “Hi DE Ho” man. Cab Calloway grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. Then he moved to Chicago to study law at Crane Univesity, but still was big into music. Cab Calloway took over his band in Chicago in 1928. His biggest hit was “Minnie the Moocher” which happened in 1931. However this song was created by him and was played in the Cab Calloway band in 1929. Calloway wasn’t just big into music he was an actor between the 1930’s and 1950’s. In 1925 Cab Calloway sister Blanch help him become famous for getting him in the musical “Plantations Days”. After every night Cab Calloway would be playing at nightclubs.
