The gold rush had a positive impact on California's growth, but also had some negative effects. While California did kind of get affected by the gold rush, it mostly benefited them. The reason it benefited them was because it helped make California important to the United States, it helped California's economic development, and it brought diversity to the state. In this second paragraph, I will explain how the gold rush helped bring diversity to California. So before the gold rush, California was just pretty much a territory full of native Americans and some animals. Then gold was found, and everyone rushed to California for a piece of that gold.
