Cam Newton Research Paper

Cam Newton should be the NFL MVP, and at this point, its not even a close race. Barring a significant drop in performance or the Panthers crumbling in the last three games of the season, we should see Newton get the award he deserves. The numbers aren't as pretty as the other elite quarterbacks in the NFL, but he is making do with what he's got.

His number one target is Greg Olsen, who is no slouch, but after him? Ted Ginn, Jerricho Cotchery, and rookie Devin Funchess. That lineup doesn’t keep defenses up at night. But Cam sure does. His receivers drop tons of balls, nineteen and counting, but he has still managed too keep the Panther’s undefeated season alive. His running back is good, but not great. Even now, people think he’s too flashy, arrogant, and childish to be a MVP candidate. But he still goes out and performs at an elite level. No matter how much people hate his celebrating, his constant ‘fake’ smile (That I love about him by the way,) or how he comes off as arrogant, people can’t deny that he has been the reason the Panthers are 13-0. Without him, the Panthers are probably a pretty bad team, even with their stout defense. That is where we break down what MVP stands for. Most valuable player. Not the best player. Cam is not the best player in the NFL, and he isn’t even the best quarterback. But he is definitely the most valuable player to his team.
