PROBLEM:
The current recruiting process put in place by Camp Happy Valley is structured very poorly and is causing them to lose potential employees due to an inefficient and lengthy process. At the present moment the Super Staff is in charge of hiring and rehiring counselors, swim staff, and specialists for the following summer. The lengthy part of the process is that all potential candidates require having three references which need to be contacted before a contract can be offered. With approximately 800 new candidates, going through these references is highly inefficient and time consuming.
SOLUTION:
There are three main proposed solutions to this problem. The main solution being the removal the references from the recruiting and hiring process altogether. This was by far the lengthiest process and one that is not necessary. To compensate for the removal of references, the super staff members are to conduct more thorough and effective interviews. This is to be done by taking into account the candidates past experience and their ability to communicate in a mature and friendly manner. Also, by introducing a different approach to the hiring process, candidates will conduct simulation activities to test their leadership and communication skills.
