Camp Mosaic is a week long summer camp where we teach our younger generation life skills and creativity, while maintaining a positive environment. This is accomplished through engaging activities that help participants express themselves through their identity and at the same time we promote a brotherhood and help develop lasting bonds between participants and counselors. I have done camp for three years now, two as a counselor and one as a guide. In brief detail a guide at camp mosaic helps make sure everything is running smoothly such as lunch or departure. My co- counselors, all of whom had at least five years of experience, dwarfed me, however I felt determined to provide my participants with an unforgettable camp experience. But before any impact could be made we were required to attend three conferences to discuss the various activities planned for the participants. Looking back after completing the activity, I realized the magnitude of the impact that the discussion left on the participants. I learned a lesson at that point, I realized that the issues of society that are important to me may not be seen the same way through the eyes of others. I also realized that I was naive when putting my prior experience into effect. My co counselors guided me to realize that I must broaden my perspective to understand another's. I was fortunate to have co counselors who were able to help me open my mind to to other perspectives, because it enhanced not only the experience of my participants but also myself. My Co- Counselor’s experience benefited me by helping me start the camp off right by gauging my participant’s interests and the participants begging to know what the next days IE was. At this moment, almost 2 weeks after the conference when I felt bitter that I couldn't do what I wanted to do, I felt blessed for what had transpired that morning. After that day I asked my group members for more of their past experiences so I could build my arsenal of ideas for the remainder of camp. Their experiences helped diversify my content and directly contributed to the success of the rest of the week for me. Differing viewpoints don't necessarily lead to problems. In my
