I believe people will go to an extreme length to get what they know is not right in society. People will lie, and kill and plot for the right time to take or get what they want. Candide eventually kills some people because he wants to be with His cousin Cunegunde and the individual was standing in his way. Candide eventually gets to finally be with Cunegunde, but now he does not even want her or love her. The moral of this story is that some people want what they’re not supposed to have, but when they get it they do not want it anymore. The thrill of the chase is what kept him motivated and lust, not love
Tartuffe is a story that shows people can easily be deceived by what they see. Orgon believes Tartuffe to have been an outstanding gentleman and respectable when everyone else seen him for who he really was. Every time someone would warn Orgon about Tartuffe he would not believe him until someone set Tartuffe up, and he got mad and tried to take the house from Orgon. The moral of the story is sometimes you have to let people believe what they want to believe about an individual until they really see what he or she is
