With knowledge of the story and some possibilities of the choice, the best option would be to not kill Captain Torres for the sake of the barber. It is told from the story that if the barber did kill Captain Torres, then he will be known as, “Captain Torres’ murderer...The avenger of us all...Murderer or hero?” (TÉLLEZ 3). Either a murderer or hero, the news will travel to many places, clearly the barber would’ve had a better chance of hiding from the military if he hadn’t killed him than being known on the news for the death of Torres.
