In school, students should plan out their future and if they want to go into business, they can take business classes. They should be put in classes that will actually enhance their lives for the better. According to Jeff Bennett of The Wall Street Journal, "A new survey, released Tuesday, finds 52% of U.S. teens ranging from 15 to 17 years old don't know how to replace a tire." Researchers have found that students spend time on stuff they will never use again, and they stray away from the important things, as it states above, like changing a tire. According to a recent study done by Paris, for instance, older students are increasingly more likely to agree with the following statement: “I’m afraid that people will think I’m stupid if I get a low score on a test.” These students may worry about their low test scores becoming common knowledge, possibly lowering their esteem in the eyes of others.” As everybody knows, school adds lots of stress, and a new language adds even more. When students take foreign languages they get stressed out and embarrassed by the class all together. The student then proceeds to mess up every other class, because they are so focused on a class that will mean little to nothing in the near future. If learning our own language and another language at the same time seems easy, think again. Then add hard courses like math into the mix, and it only gets tougher from there. Schools should relieve the stress of the students and remove foreign language as a mandatory
