Careers are exposed to humans as early as kindergarten with some of those being a superhero, a doctor, a teacher, a police officer, a nurse, a professional athlete, a veterinarian, and the surprisingly popular career of being a princess. But many of those don’t usually end up being a reality. As humans begin to grow and develop, they learn to understand what they truly want to accomplish in their lifetimes and what is applied to the “real world.” A huge contributor to pursue a selective career probably involves the most wonderful word being mathematics. It is used in everyday life by mathematicians, architects, engineers, and Highway Patrol. The California Highway Patrol is an excellent example of how some of the most mathematical basics are …show more content…
For example, a car traveling on the freeway abruptly had to fully lock the brakes on the car and the wheels on the car left skid marks. The length from the beginning of the skid marks to the wheels can be used to determine the velocity of the braking car. The velocity of the car can then be transferred to miles per hour to determine the speed of the car. The Multidisciplinary
Accident Investigation Team also uses computer software to develop two dimensional and three dimensional images which requires exact measurements of possibly a person being launched through the front window and measuring the distance to where the body landed to determine the trajectory and speed of the body leaving the car.
The huge impact mathematics has on the world is incredible. The importance of mathematics plays a crucial role in nearly everybody’s lives, maybe without the person realizing how physics, math, cars, friction, and a tape measure can really open new ideas to prevent some situations from reocurring. It is extremely spectacular how such little factors can make a major impact in today’s world, especially the use of
