Through ‘A Time to Kill’ the representation labels white Americans as the villains of the film as Carle Lee Hailey is represented as a guilty man through a legitimate reason after his daughter was raped and murdered by two southerners, who were found innocent of the charges and the film explores how this is due to the idea that black people are irrelevant and are judged differently to that of white people. Examining this further allows us to gather a contextualized understanding of how white supremacy through this time were a prominent part of History, and a re-creation of this was enabled and developed through this movie to construct a representation of the racial superiority that was a bold explanation point throughout the 1950s-1960s.
