The inclusion of an Eco- Tourist resort will affect Carnarvon Gorge in many ways. If an Eco- Tourist resort was built, tourists and bushwalkers would have somewhere to sleep when they are visiting Carnarvon Gorge.

The most under rated aspect in Carnarvon Gorge is the indigenous cultural heritage, seen at sites like the Art Gallery and Cathedral Cave. These significant sites contain examples of stencilling techniques considered the most sophisticated of their kind in the world.
The Bidjara and Karingbal had strong social ties during the period prior to colonisation and were both using the gorge, but not on a permanent basis. Early researched believed that the gorge was not permanently occupied due to defensive concerns and a lack of resources, Australian nature guides have developed other theories that also fir the facts given the gorge’s local spiritual significance.
