Emma made headlines and was awarded a bravery and hero award at the town hall. There were no casualties, but a couple did get injured. All the praise and fame died down after a couple of weeks, and eventually, everyone went back to school. I’m back in math class. Professor Pong is droning on again, and I zone him out again. But, I don’t look at the newly budded trees outside, or count the cars in the parking lot. Instead, I find myself staring at someone. I play the scene in my head again and again. The scene where I fell in love with Emma. Where I found my hero. A few more weeks pass, and we make our new class schedules. A little birdy tells me which classes Emma’s taking, and I fit in 4 classes with her. Whenever I see her, she seems to glow. Her every action seems like a very important one. She’s hard-working, gets good grades, and is kind to others. What isn’t there to like about her? These same thoughts ran through my mind for 3 weeks straight.
