While I was not able to see if others changed their minds based on these points, I personally believe that some were more effective than others, but the premise behind the tactic was effective. I feel this way because people could present more powerful cases. Another stakeholder strategy was to share anecdotes or personal knowledge of the event. This built the credibility of the person speaking and caused people to trust their opinion. One example of this was a bee-farmer/keeper in the audience, whom the citizens asked to explain a regulation dealing with pesticide application and honeybees. While this specific citizen was not a facilitator, her explanation and discussion was sought by the audience on how to vote on a specific question, primarily due to her communication strategy of building
