Pseudoephedrine is a common brand name of the Sudafed D drug, placed OTC so that customers will not abuse or misuse the medication. The initial reason the drug was prescribed was to give some relief of my complications of the nasal and throat symptoms that I was experiencing which was swollen nostrils, redness, and also a bit of mucus, which put me in a very uncomfortable state and irritable mood. The medication directions was to take one tab every 4 to 6 hours as needed, but do not take no more than four in a 24 hour period.

Yes, the pharmacist and physician have restrictions. The physician restriction is coming into the office every three months to be checked before issuing another prescription. At the pharmacist when they ask for your identification it gives them details of how many times the patient was issued the prescribed medication cause you only allowed a certain amount.
