The ozone layer is a “safety belt” of naturally occurring ozone gas, that sits 15 to 30 kilometers above the Earth in the atmosphere and protects us as a shield from the harmful ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation …show more content…
North America, where the gastric brooding frogs live, are not to be found anymore lately, already since the early eighties.
The Wyoming and the Houston toads, due to populations of less than ten thousand, are now endangered species, and therefore on the the endangered list.
All of the following toad/frog species are on the California’s protected species list, these are endangered species that need protection: The Colorado River toad, Yosemite toad, foothill yellow-legged frog, mountain yellow-legged frog, cascades frog, spotted frog, leopard frog, tailed frog, and Western spadefoot toad
In the Southern U.S., it seems that the gray treefrog is not afraid to continue even though it’s specie is become extinct and there are fewer to find.
2. Explanation of how the science works to solve the problem:
There is widespread concern that the ozone layer is worsening, due to the release of pollution containing both chemicals; chlorine and bromine. This enables tremendous amounts of ultraviolet B (UVB) rays to reach Earth, which may cause skin cancer, cataracts in humans and can damage animals and wildlife a lot as …show more content…
First of all, some of these chemicals are not be avoided in our lives, so it is not that realistic or efficient to give up all those chemicals and never use them again or hardly ever. That would be really hard, because some chemicals we can not get rid of easily. For example; the chemicals in pollution affect the ozone layer very much, but pollution is very hard to avoid. These gases that are let free in the air, we call air pollution with a reason, because they are bad for nature and bad for the environment, for our universe. But, we can not avoid these gases easily. Exhaust fumes from vehicles, the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil or gas, harmful off-gassing from things like paint and plastic production, and radiation spills or nuclear accidents, all cause pollution to enter the air, but it’s not like one can avoid this easily, especially
