The American Revolution is basically what started America and American culture as we know today, so if it were to never happen I don't think America would ever be a thing. Maybe not even so much as a word either. Knowing this it shows how important the American Revolution to us Americans. It all started after the French and Indian war in 1754, which had ended in 1763 with the British winning but although they won they had to pay for their damages and had taxed certain people and places to repair. In my opinion this decision is the main cause of the American Revolution. The people who they taxed were the people of the American colonies who had to pay a large amount to pay off the debt. These men were a way to show the British to stop messing with them and also to protect the rights of the Colonists. The first ever target they had was a public official in charge of enforcing the stamp act. They had gathered up a mob to basically terrorize this man house because he had some relation to the act when really he wasn't that important. Really it was a way just to take their anger out on someone but it did however get the British’s attention. One of the biggest incidents the Sons of Liberty caused was the Boston Tea party which was a big wakeup call to the british. In the end all this information goes to show some of the causes of the American Revolution. First I stated the taxes from the aftermath of the French and Indian war. This was the match that started the first which as I stated before was in my opinion the main cause. Next I stated the way the British taxed the people of the colonies and how they basically lacked communication. Lastly I stated the Sons of Liberty who were basically a group of rebels trying to make a difference which as we know today, they did.
