The American Humane Association, founded in 1877 as an organization dedicated to helping animals. Dr Robin R. Ganzert is the current CEO of the American Humane Association. She has written a lot about the problems with animal abandonment. She has a section explaining the causes and problems of animal abandonment and how to stop it. Dr. Ganzert writes that animal abandonment has been around a lot longer than most other problems. The child may enjoy playing with the pet but it’s later that matters. Children need to understand that pets require walking, caring, feeding, and cleaning.
