In the second case, in 2004 Chai Vang was sentenced for the murders of six deer hunters. He claimed it was self-defense, when the hunters shouted obscenities at him, and a gun was aimed at him and fired all while Mr. Vang was on their property. Two years later another hunter was killed named Cha Vang by James Nichols. This murder was believed to be racially motivated because they is animosity towards the Hmony community and certain citizens of Wisconsin (Wilcoxen,2007). As cultures like the Hmony integrate into communities like in Wisconsin little is known of each culture and their beliefs practices and this often breeds fear, fears brings hate, hate brings racism and hence the killing.
