After the pep rally on Friday, the students are always very excited for the big game. Following school dismissal, there is a parade that showcases Chamblee’s many clubs, the homecoming court, the marching band, the local police station, and even some small local businesses. Right before the game, there is a tailgate where students play cornhole, grill food, listen to music and socialize with one another. Right outside of the stadium there is lots of spirit wear that anyone can purchase to support the football team as well. At the game, many alumni return to join in on the celebration. Alumni who were once on the dance team or in the marching band get an opportunity to perform with their fellow teammates during halftime. Also during halftime, the homecoming queen is crowned by the previous year’s queen and escorted across the field. Many of the students look forward to showing their spirit and pride together throughout the entire evening to make for an active, strong student section with loud cheering and pride.
