The quote, "Sometimes the things we can't change end up changing us" from the novel Among The Hidden, by Margaret Peterson Haddix relates to Luke. For starters, this quote relates to Luke because there were many things that Luke could not change. For example, he couldn't change the fact that he was a 3rd child born into a poor family and wasn't allowed to exist. Since he wasn't allowed to do so many things because of restriction his parents gave him, Luke grew up very obedient and conformit. Luke was oblivious to some things in the world and government propaganda because he had no experience except for hiding in his house his whole life.
