In the book American Born Chinese, Jin is a character that always wanted to fit in no matter what was the scenario. His parents met in San Francisco; therefore Jin was born in the United States. Jin had to move to a new school, but at first it was different for him because the students had not the same interest in things such as games they play, the food they ate etc. When Jin was at San Francisco his friends would come over every Saturday morning, they would watch cartoons; in addition they would play toy battles.
