Christopher’s everyday life is made significantly harder as he can not deal with social situations as a normal person would. In the novel, Christopher expresses his love for physics and math. In regards to his Aspergers, his teachers do not think he is intelligent enough to do his A levels math but he is very confident in his skills. “I’m going to do my A-levels maths next month. And i’m going to get an A grade,”(Hodden,55). Although Christopher knows that his life can be moe difficult than those of typical 15 year old boys, he is still determined to take his A-level maths. He is very intelligent in math and physics even though he does lack social skills. Rather than seeing his Asperger’s as a setback like everyone else in his school does, he embraces it and focuses on courses that he excels in.
Overall, Christopher has a very good grasp on his life and his emotions. He knows how to keep himself calm, how to demonstrate his appreciation of others, and looks at the greater aspects of life. Christopher is in complete control of his own life and handles situations in a mature and positive manner.
