The Disney Hercules film tells the story of the son of Zeus and his wife Hera. Hercules is born as a god but is turned human by his paternal uncle Hades who attempts to kill him. Hercules is a adopted by a loving couple who raise him to be as normal as possible. However, Hercules still has his superhuman strength that gets him in trouble several times. This leads him to inquire about his birth parents and concludes with him confirming that he is the son of Zeus, a Greek god. Hercules asks his father to restore god status, but Zeus reveals that Hercules can become a god again only if he proves to be a real hero.
