Lady Olivia: Olivia has an overly dramatic personality. She has made her decision, seven years in advance, that she will mourn the deaths of her brother and father. Through Valentine, she says, “…Till seven years’ heat…a brother’s dead love, which [I will] keep fresh, and lasting in [my] sad remembrance,” (1.1.27,32-33). Olivia refuses to move on with her life but instead, to mourn for seven years and remember the deaths sadly for the rest of her life. This reveals her dramatic personality.
