He would send a group of homeless children out west to find better homes. Brace thought the west was filled with good people and a great deal of food. He did not leave these children. He came to them and gave them good homes and nice families. He did his best and tried his hardest to give every child a loving and caring home. That might not have always worked out the way he would have wanted it to, but he always tried. Charles Loring Brace was kind of like Jesus in some respects. He gave the homeless homes and showed them love even when they might not have even deserved it. He had so much respect for these children and the families who took them in. It is a huge responsibility to take in extra children and he knew that, but he still helped get these children a better
