With a smile plastered on my face and my hands in the air, I put every last ounce of energy and strength into my cheerleading routine. I hoped it would pay off in the end! About halfway through the routine, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted Gianna falling out of her stunt, and I almost cried. As the routine drew to a close like a drawstring bag, I could sense my hopes going with it.

At awards, our team created a circle, plopped on the ground, and waited until they got to our division. They announced second and third, and I felt crushed. I knew there was no way we would get first, and olny the top three teams made it to Florida Then I heard the announcer call our names, and I froze, rooted to the ground in shock.

I couldn't sleep that night. As the dawn approached, I jumped out of bed like a rocket and flew downstairs. I shoveled down breakfast and got dressed, and just in time! As soon as I stepped foot downstairs, we jetted outside and left cold New Jersey behind.

As the plane touched down onto the sunny Florida ground, I unbuckled my shiny silver seatbelt and walked off the plane, suitcase in hand. Soon after, my travel group took a cab ride to our hotel, had a nice lunch, and got unpacked before getting ready for practice. As soon as we were ready to go, we took the elevator downstairs and headed straight to the big blue mats that could make or break our season.

That night, we headed towards Universal Studios for a cheer party. After all 17 of us piled into the 11-seater van, off we went! As the night went on, everyone on our team must have rode all the roller coasters in the park, some more intense than others, twisting and turning all over the place like a snake. Around midnight, the park got ready to close, so the coaches started to wrap up.
