Child Soldiers: Prosecuted or granted Amnesty

Some may say that child soldiers should be prosecuted to their love of violence. In reality these young soldiers are victims and should be granted amnesty. Child soldiers are forced to fight , they will be killed if they don’t kill under command, and these young soldiers want to be apart of a family. For these three reasons this is why I think child soldiers should not be prosecuted and be granted amnesty.

Although I agree that child can be perpetrators, I still believe that they are victims and should be granted amnesty. These child soldiers are forced to kill people. According to Armed and Underage by Jeffrey Gettleman “ Thousands of boys as young as ten are purchased, kidnapped, or terrorized into joining the country’s army” (pg 6). These kids are being kidnapped into being a soldier and yet people still think they should be prosecuted. This reveals that some people don’t know the real pain that child soldiers have to go through regularly.

The people who say that also will say that child soldiers have a choice to kill or they could just run away. People who say that are wrong because child soldiers don’t really have a say in anything they do or they will be shot and killed if they don’t follow orders.
