After Capone was caught and finally got punished for his action he spent the first two years of his prison life in a federal prison in Atlanta. He was then caught bribing guards and was sent to the island prison Alcatraz in.Capone contracted syphilis as a young man, and after so much time alone it made it worse and then suffered from neurosyphilis which made him worse and caused him to get dementia. Capone was released into a mental hospital in Baltimore for three years. Capone lived his last days in Miami with his wife. He died of cardiac arrest on January 25, 1947. Capone was at times both loved and hated by the media and the public. When Prohibition was repealed in 1933, some in the public felt that Capone’s involvement in selling liquor had been the reason. But Capone was a ruthless gangster responsible for murdering and ordering the assassinations of people.
