The study published by Pediatrics: the official journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, confirms the long-established relationship amongst exposure to childhood adversity and an assortment of negative outcomes throughout the life span. The authors of the study utilized a “highly structured qualitative method” to produce and rank ideas around a research question in order to prompt the childhood adversities of the participants who grew up in low-income Philadelphia neighborhoods. The study was conducted throughout 12 organizations with at least one focus group at each site.
