Childhood Bullying

The “Big Idea” I have decided to tackle is childhood bullying within the school

system. My working thesis statement is “Why do bullies bully within the school system

and how can I go by improving this situation”. I think my thesis statement is concise

and clear, but I'm going to have to work at making it stronger. With the research I plan

to do, I will develop an effective argument to state my topic.

As I research my big idea, I will gather reliable information to support my topic. I

will gather information from reliable resources such as government organizations,

articles, journals and the Kaplan Library. I will show how childhood bullying has

health-harming effects on students as well as life interferences.

I would pitch my argument to local and surrounding schools urging them to place

stricter rules on students for bullying. I would tell them this: Bullying within the

school system shows unreasonable actions of individuals (or a group) directed

towards students (or a group of students), which are intended to intimidate, degrade,

humiliate or undermine; or which create a risk to the health of the students.
