Although people have their own opinions, some argue their strategy to fix the problem is better than most other strategies. For example, Frieden, Dietz, and even Collins argue that choosing healthier foods to lower childhood obesity is the best way to go. They explain that “Changing our food environments can improve nutrition and reduce obesity through a three prong strategy: altering relative food prices, shifting our exposure to food…..”(Frieden 6). Although this solution can be beneficial for children it does not ensure that they will drop the weight from choosing healthier foods and make the right decisions of what foods to eat. There are plenty of ways to change a child's diet but, being realistic most children would rather just push the plate away and eat nothing or pout until they get to eat what they want. Especially when children come home from school they are hungry and already asking what's for dinner, and if they can have a snack. Once the parents say yes they go for the good stuff, which i'm sure everyone does because who would want to eat a carrot when they see cake,candy, brownies, cookies, in the pantry and then they get told to get a fruit of eat a salad they end up getting mad and not wanting to eat not even dinner. Even though eating healthy foods is a good solution, it wouldn't help decrease the numbers of childhood obesity in the world as much as physical activity would in this case. Physical activity is more helpful because it can ensure that the children's weight will drop and it would help drop the numbers of childhood obesity across america. There's always an understanding that people don't have time in their busy lives, but all it takes is at least thirty minutes a day to start out and even show improvement on losing weight to help lower numbers in the obesity rate. There are gyms all around that stay open 24/7 so here really aren't excuses to why people can't put effort into losing weight even if it's only ten pounds. Also, if children become more adapt to exercising they can live a much healthier life and a longer life as well because, eating unhealthy all the time and not exercising can cause some health problems for them as they get older like diabetes, high cholesterol etc. Children don't really know about the health problems that can occur so it’s the parent's job to warn them and help they out in losing weight because it's hard for children to do it on their own. Some children feel embarrassed to exercise in front of other people because they are scared to get made fun of, and that’s okay there's always other alternatives like exercising inside the house like going up and down stairs and push ups, sit ups, crunches
