Fire, its hell everywhere
Gray clouds and corpses’ diseases
We cried, we run and tried to cease it
Guns, bullets, tanks and soldiers
Homes became cemeteries, joys turned into fears
We just don’t get the world so clear
Rockets rain, shower of flame
Life is the bet for this kind of game
We don’t know who is to blame
Fathers are those who fight
Awake and crawl every night
But we children are who suffer in fright
War has no heart nor face
Were seeing troops falling from each race
Tired of hiding, having nightmares for days
If God really love those things we see
Will we children see what were meant to be
War without meaning, will there be peace and harmony
Genesis Bernaldez
WHILE THE CHILDREN PLAY
While the children play on swings and slide
The adults take world events in stride
Try to forget the problems of the day
While they stand and watch the children play
Haunting refrains of trouble galore
Across the sea and on our own shore
Prompting them to remember to pray
For peace and harmony while the children play
With innocence and trust and faith in God
The children are unaware of anything odd
Oblivious in their world of play
Unaware of any dissension or fray
Protected, sheltered and safe from harm
Keeping them free from fear and alarm
Hoping the world will be safe some day
As they stand and watch the children play
How long will their world be safe and free
And remain the land of liberty
Will they get to have their say
That's what is pondered while
